This last time year I was my lightest for 10 years. Vowed never to go back to fat but just had a disastrous 8 months off the site & trying to claw my way back to a manageable weight. My clothes don’t fit, I’m exhausted after a 5 minute gym warm up ...but, I know this site works. Looking for similars to help me speed through the impossible early days. It gets harder everytime.

    There is no "never again".

Maintenance is a constant up-and-down. That's just how it is.

Don't beat yourself up too much. Just aim to make the swings and roundabouts not too extreme.

    Best wishes!

It seems to me you fell into the same trap that almost everybody fall into (me too): Thinking that losing weight is the solution to your weight problem, that you can stop regain from happening just by promising yourself it won't happen, believing that hitting your weight goal means you have aquired good habits for life.

If you instead look at it as an overeating (and lack of exercise) problem, it suddenly becomes easier to handle.

When you understand that the harder you push, the faster and more painfully you break, weight management becomes a normal, everyday thing, an exersise in patience and commitment and self love, instead of a rollercoaster, an arduous, stressful, miserable affair permeated with morbid hope and highs and self-righteous entitlement.
