I work at our local YMCA in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia CANADA! Woo

We have a clinic we run a couple times a year called "Learn to Run." We have a couple of great people who teach you how to run, starting out small, and ending in celebration.

Unfortunately with my scedule (and cowardness lol) I didnt get to take it.

But lucky for me, a friend is now showing a bunch of us the ropes she learned when she did it!

And I want YOU to do it to!

Im going to post our sets/times weekly and want you to follow along at home, and soon we will all be doing races! =))

First week:
We did 10 sets of 1 minute walking and 1 minute running. Start with a warm up walk 2-5 mins and cool down with a 2 min walk.
Aim for 3 times during the week!

Week 2:
Here is where I am right now!
Start with a warm up walk 2-5 mins and cool down with a 2 min walk.

Last night we did 7 sets of 1 minute walking, 2 minutes running!
Ill be posting about getting in my other 2 days worth!

Whos with me?!?!

:drinker:

  • am starting my training next week....doing basically a c25k my sister and I are going to do my first 5k together in the spring. Injury prevents it this week. I know a lot of people who have started running lately! Yay and good luck!

I did a learn to run program at my Y in Sydney, NS in april and may this year. I have so far run a 5K race (28:39) and an 8K race (43:53). I wasn't able to run more than 200 m when I started. You can do it!
