Can you really eat yourself skinny?

Hi, y'all. I'm befuddled. I am RELIGIOUSLY tracking every single calorie, every single moment of exercise, every darn step. I create a daily caloric deficit of 500-1,000. My macros are on point. Yet, I'm not losing weight. Is there any truth to eating too few calories and your metabolism conserves body weight? Am I drinking too much water, and it's water retention? I'm frustrated and want to fit into my cool clothes again! Any input is appreciated. Thank you.

How long has your weight been stable? Have you greatly increased exercise or lifting? Are you estimating or weighing your food?

Is there truth to it? Sort of... but not exactly that, and certainly not in this context.

How long have you been maintaining that 5001-1000 calorie deficit?

Without more info from OP, I reiterate the chart.

I will third the chart. I know a lot of people are tired of seeing it, but honestly, for most people failing to see progress, it answers the basic questions.
