Me...Patagonia, Canadian Rockies, Mount Everest Base Camp, Yellowstone (Mr. Bubbles!) within the recent'ish past. Find it one of the most all-around best parts of life--stay fit, stay centered, appreciate nature and a great way to meditate without keeping still.

Hiking has been my key to weight loss so far! I’m only 10 weeks in but I’ve lost 18 lbs. I hike 3 times a week. So nice to have found a form exercise that I absolutely love.

I feel like I'm not a "real" hiker sometimes because I don't do anything longer than a day hike. But yes! In the past 10 days I've hiked at Scotts Bluff, Great Sand Dunes, Canyon Pintado and Garden of the Gods. That was on a trip though because I live in the Ozarks. Lots of fun easy hikes in my area but I am all around in love with it.

I'm not a real hiker yet but I'm slowly working on it...

Of course that's a "real hiker"--my answer would probably be better suited to "backpacker"--day hikes are freaking awesome. Can't always take extended travel, but getting away from the hubbub of work and out into nature where you really remember what life is all about--and how much worse it can be--makes you very appreciative. Hiking is way more than just the physical!

Thanks! I agree so much, it's way more than just the physical.

Another hiker here. The Idaho deserts and mountains have more hikes than I could do in a lifetime. The peace and solitude are just as important as the physical workout.

That translated as really funny when read and looking at your profile pic.

I am here so I can keep healthy for backpacking and hiking. Going for 7-8 hours out tomorrow and enjoy some low snow miles as winter is dry so far this year. (NE WY)

Love to hike but living in RI, the longest hike is only a few hours. Not really even a day hike but it’s what I have and I enjoy it a lot.

More of a rural rather than wilderness hiker these days. Planning on 3 months in Spain next summer.
