I have been diagnosed with DJD of the lumbar spine and both of my knees, However I still want to workout as long as I am able to. I've gotten with a trainer and fellow peers to push me in my fitness goals, which has been a huge motivational factor for me. So my question is...Could working out help or hurt my current issues?

i would bet a physical therapist would be a good person to ask that question and develop a plan to meet your goal as long as possible

Both depending on what you are doing. I would definitely get with a professional, not a fitness coach or trainer but a spine PT specialist, at least at first to learn what you are doing from someone that is a specialist! Don't play with your back or bones, that's a long road to comeback from if you injure yourself. I bet you money they will be focusing you on core strengthening exercises.

Another vote for this being a conversation to be had with your healthcare provider as it's way beyond the scope of random but well meaning lay persons on the Internet.

Thank you all for your feedback. I want to get back into the military so I can finish my career. But I want to be smart about this as well.
