Trying to gain

I went on keto and worked out and lost 40 pounds. Now that I am at the wait I want, I am trying to gain more muscle mass but wanting to go back to eating carbs. Do I need the carbs to achieve what I want or can I just eat a lot more fat and protein? Any pointers?
