Hello All,
I’ve been on my fitness pal for a while but finally decided to pick a diet and start reversing my “dad bod.” Im starting the Keto Diet, so any advice, tips, or friend requests greatly accepted. Have about 40lbs to lose by this fall

I reached my goal weight a few years back using keto consistently for about 6 months. Life got in the way and I fell back into some bad habits and have managed to get myself back to where I started. In any event, I have been on keto for ~2 weeks and found this go has been much easier (so far) using what I had learned last time. The tips I think are the most helpful and easiest to implement are below:
- Find foods you can trust and keep them around for snacking. For me this is macadamia nuts, blue berries, dill pickles, sugar free jello, almonds.
- Liquid breakfast makes tracking carbs easier early on. Work days for me start with a bullet proof coffee and weekends are usually a vega one shake.
- It may be boring but having consistency in your diet early on helps get a handle on your macros. You will learn a ton really quickly so you can add to your diet over time. You can grill or bake a bunch of chicken at once then use it for a weeks worth of lunches and dinners.
- Track everything you eat at first. Often times what you think you eat and what you actually eat differ significantly. it can take some time but once MFP has your most common foods at the ready it becomes quicker.
Good luck to you both, I hope this helps out a little.1 -
I started the Keto diet about 14 days go. Mainly for cancer prevention but I have lost about 12 pounds and was really having a hard time eating enough. I was a Weight watcher all my life and the keto diet is everything the WW diet is not so it's been a real learning curve. Making some of the receipies helps and I've learned to add fat into my diet. It's really good cause you don't ever have the need to cheat .....yet!!!!2
