Lose 5kg in 5 weeks

Hello All
Need a bit of a challenge to get started. I’m female, 28. Previously lost weight from 87kg down to 50kg. Recently my weight has been creeping up and I’m sitting around my high weight. So, from tomorrow I will be aiming for 5kg in 5 weeks. It’s night so will do a fresh weight in the morning. Wish me luck. I’m so disappointed in myself for letting myself go so much. Feel free to join!!

    Day 1
    Thursday 17th May
    Starting Weight: 80kg exactly
Today has been reasonably easy, I worked night shift last night so slept through the day. I did really well on night shift, normally I would eat heaps to stay awake but I kept control. I’m still so disappointed in myself for getting here, but trying to go easy on myself and remind myself if I work hard, then tomorrow I will be smaller than I was today. So far so good.

    Goals
    Thursday 24/5 - 79
    Thursday 31/5 - 78
    Thursday 7/6 - 77
    Thursday 14/6 - 76
    Thursday 21/6 - 75

    Day 2
Today went really well. Resisted temptation much more than I normally would. Feeling very motivated still. Late last night I had some snacks I shouldn’t have had. Goal for the next two days is ZERO late night snacks! Need to take before pictures but can’t be bothered cleaning bedroom yet for clear view of mirror. Full time work + husband and 2 kids + sick with a cold. No time for cleaning.

Not to burst your bubble but unless you have more than 50lbs to lose 1kg/2.2lbs a week is too much to aim to lose. It would mean you'd lose alot of muscle along with the fat and that's not ideal at all.

You'll drop a lot of water weight at first then fat loss will slow down - that's normal. What i I'm saying is don't expect a loss on the scale every day, some days it will even go up, that's par for the course.

But do your best and whatever you lose will be a plus. A more realistic loss might be more sustainable and there will be less chance of regain.

    All the best.

Thanks for the advice, but I’ve done this before. My body sits comfortably at 50-55kg which is 60lbs away. I’ve done weight loss like this before and kept it off for 6 years and always lose much faster at the start. 1kg a week for the first few weeks is completely doable for my body and then it will slow down. As long as I stay motivated and resist the late night snacks!! I do appreciate you taking the time to reply to me though, if I didn’t know my body I would take it slower.

As for today, did well. Stayed under my calorie goal and no late night snacking last night (but I did sleep 14 hours!!).

Lack of updates because I have been working nights!

Day 4 - May 20 - did really well during the day but did have some late night snacks that I felt really guilty about.

Day 5 - May 21 - Not a terrible day slept most of the day to switch to night shift. Had a few chocolates on night shift though which is disappointing.

Day 6 - May 22 - Really bad day today. Got no sleep after night shift and snacked all through the day. Unhealthy horrible snacks and followed it up with pizza for dinner. I’ve paid for it though. Have had horribly upset stomach and spent a lot of time on the toilet. Definitely back to healthy eating tomorrow. Have not had any snacks at work tonight so here’s to staying strong throughout tomorrow.
