I have a hard time explaining this to people. When I started keto I lost 11 pounds in 4 days. People thought it was either unsafe or magical. First of all I was 290lbs...that`s all water not fat. My point is a scale doenst tell you how much fat you've lost. Even a tanita or inbody scale has errors. Dont let a scale discourage you!

Hi everyone, it seems like this topic may be better suited to the General Health and Fitness forum. I'm going to move it there.
    Thanks!

Thank you everyone for the grammar. I don't like to grammar.

I used to grammar as a hobby. and copy edit in my spare time for fun.

I don't generally do it unless requested, as some people take it personally or critically, But I understood the gist of what you were saying and took the liberty of doing some minor edits. Glad you appreciated it.

I've actually been getting mildly irritated for the past couple of days by people on MFP being so focused on what the scale says, rather than on whether their fitness level is improving. That's probably because I recently decided to only weigh once a month and to focus on my fitness. I'll likely get over it and let them do themselves without getting irritated that they're focusing on stuff that I have come to deem unimportant.

As for my goals, I want to increase my walking to 32 km a week, do simple resistance exercises 3-4 times a week, etc. My goal is about neither losing weight nor losing fat, though I know that I will likely lose both as I work to get more fit.

A note on your grammar: I understood what you were saying. As a certified Grammar Nazi, I thought it was kind of over the top to edit your grammar, especially to edit your grammar with more poor grammar. IMO, if you're going to criticize someone else's faults, you need to be really sure that you're perfect in those aspects you're criticizing.

Agreed. The numbers on the scale are nice (when they are going down), but they aren't the end all, be all that some people think they should be. Getting stronger, faster, leaner, having clothes that fit better, or especially when you need new, smaller clothes, those matter more than the numbers on the scale.
