    I'm at about 120wpm. I learned on an old manual typewriter, so I had to mash the keys. Still do on my laptop even though I know that I can just "lightly" tap the keys.

    I'm just picturing a demented racoon typing a paper...LOL! Thanks for the image.

    That's 100% why I type the way I do, too! My grandfather was a typewriter repairman/salesman and when I was a kid, I learned to type on old manual typewriters from the 60s (even though I grew up in the 80s).
