And is that what you really do? (You said you were gaining weight.) You can eat anytime you want, when it's allowed. I would guess it's allowed to eat anytime as long as it's not during the daytime? Can you eat twice per 24 hours? That will make everything easier. Divide your allowance into two meals that each have some starch, at least some of it whole grain, some protein, some fat, some vegetables, a little fruit. I'm sure there will be cookies and cakes and puddings and dried fruit and deep fried things? If you eat that, just have a little, and not for every meal. And try to not focus too much on food, but pray, and do good deeds, things like that.
Nooo I'm not starving myself. i don't need more than 1000 calories (52kg, 155cm). I do try to eat as healthy as i can and keep in mine my macros. I can eat between 8PM and 4AM, which would be enough if I didn't go to sleep around 10 PM and woke up at 6AM.
As for sweets, almost don't consume any those days, because I kow if I would start, I wouldn't stop eating.
I guess I'm pretty scared to gain weight this time
Can you take a nap during the day? And eat at 8PM, go straight to bed, get up, and be finished eating by 4AM?5 -
Yes that has been issue the past couple of nights. Not getting enough calories because I'm only eating vegetables fruits and lean protein. Like how I do reach 1500(or your 1000) by only eating healthy!0

Are you breaking your fast with dates and milk? If so, maybe switch to whole milk. Do you eat suhoor too, and what is it? Its impossible to get adequate nutrients with 1000 calories, and you'll eventually face some serious health issues. Ramadan is not about losing weight, and it certainly isn't meant for you to harm your body. Shift your thinking, add calorie dense foods, and timing is doesn't matter.3

Hello
I'm looking for people who are fasting during the month of Ramadan.
I always think I would lose weight during this month, but end up gaining weight!!!
It would be awesome to have some friends to support each other during this month, share tips, and stay healthy!
AND, if anyone has tips about eating one meal a day, I would love to receive some )
Ramadan Kareem!
I would say, what you're looking for one meal plan
the bad thing about such plans you're gonna eat more than you should.
If I were you, I would do the following
(Doesn't mean to stick to my post in here)
try to break your fast with the following
- dates (sugarily one) 3 pcs = 70 calories
- two pics of ground beef Sambousek = each equal 52 - 59 (air-fired) jump to ( 135 + ) if fried with oil.
- 3 whole eggs
- 100 gram of mixed vegas (tomato, onions, green pepper)
( make an egg omlete )
after 3-4 hours take for example
- fats (healthy one) peanut, almond.
- fruit ( you name it)
and keep taking little bits every few hours.
last meal So’hor you can take (eat)
one last big meal
- protein 50%
- carbs 20 %
- fats 30 %1 -
First Ramadan counting calories and I'm trying to get 1500 in in one setting. I don't know if that's good or bad. 1500 has been phenomenal for my weight loss but it's usually spread out throughout the day.
I tired getting to 1000 calories in one setting and it was too much. maybe because it was healthy?
i feel like i would either eat healthy food and not reach my calories, or reach it by eating lots of oils- and I DO NOT want to get back to that
the key is not like eating fewer calories mean a healthy food.
or even mean losing weight.
your body needs fuel to power it up to do your normal - every day- routine
best advice I can give it to you is to visit a nutrition specialist to help you doing/making a nutrition plan based on your status.1 -
Assalamu alaykum!
You're over-thinking this a little too much. Remember the reason that you're fasting, and lessen your focus on food. 1000 calories is too little, even if you are small in stature--if you're undereating, you're more likely to have a hard time during the fast and an even harder time trying not to eat the universe after sunset.
My general Ramadan routine:
- Wake up at 3 AM, eat an egg+cheese sandwich plus a few dates (Generally 3, if we're being specific). Drink plenty of water, then pray at 3.30 and go back to sleep. There's no reason why you can't go back to sleep after having a meal, that's a dieting myth.
- At iftar time, I break my fast with dates and water. Then, after prayer time, I serve a simple dinner-style meal like spaghetti, or pizza, or whatever I want that day. None of the deep fried sides or fifty thousand dessert options. Later at night, I have a small dinner to finish up my calories for the day, or some kind of dessert if I'm not hungry enough for a full meal.6 -

What are your stats? If 1000 calories is what you need to eat to lose half a kilogram a week (1.1 pounds), then you must be pretty small already.0 -

Ramadhan Kareem! I’m doing my first Ramadhan where I’m counting calories. I’ve got a family Iftar on Wednesday where I’m planning on sticking to good old portion control and having to guesstimate everything. I’ve dropped my calories down to 1500 from 1700 because I wasn’t losing any weight, and in the past I have gained weight during Ramadhan or stayed the same (last year). I eat protein (kebab, eggs, fish, protein powder) for both my meals with fruit, dates and loads of veggies, quinoa, chickpeas salad, pakoras and the secret to upping my calories is...oil. Honestly. 1 tbsps is 100-120 calories extra! Anyway I find oil and fats like avocado more satisfying so I end up eating less. I’m sticking to exercising 4 times a week.0

Change your goal to .25 kg per week. You don’t have much to lose, if anything, so you need a smaller deficit to help with lean mass retention and more calories for adequate nutrient intake. After Ramadan ends, you might want to reevaluate your goal and see if a recomp is a better option to help you lose fat.2 -

I'd certainly eat more than 1000 calories though. I need about 1400 just to keep myself going on a daily basis and if I exercise I need more.
I would plan on a very protein rich meal each day with carbs, fat, etc. It really shouldn't matter when you eat it though, morning, noon or night. I pick midday b/c that would help me make it through the day easier. You can pray and meditate at night in order to get past the hunger pangs.
During Ramadan, fasting is from sunup to sundown. No food or water allowed during the day.0
