Discipline. I work a desk job also and the company gives away candy pretty much all the time; bowls filled with fun size candy bars. Donuts once, sometimes twice, a week. Didn't stop me from making goal. I did, and still do, walk at lunch a lot.

Another desk jockey here as well. In fact, that desk job was why I got fat - well, that, and I didn't think about/realize I'd need to change how I ate/exercised.

I head to the gym in the morning, then work is just work. I do have a sit/stand desk, so I will use the standing part an hour or two a day and jut do some calf raises, balancing on one leg, etc.

As for my bored snacking - I plan a snack each day, and pick things I can nibble at. Pistachios are an example. It's a planned snack, measured out, but gives me something to do for awhile.

A bottle of sparkling water is really what does it for me though! Plain water does NOT have the same effect, nor does flavored water, but sparkling water is great - I can sip on it guilt free all day, it's more interesting for my mouth, and I enjoy it.

Other than that, spacing meals properly. I'm not a big breakfast person, if I workout, I have a shake when I'm getting ready for work. I wait to have my coffee until I'm at work, so that keeps me "busy" for a couple hours in the morning. I tend to take an earlier lunch (11:30) then have my planned snack when I'm getting the hangries but still have a couple/few hours to go. Dinner is cooked and eaten as soon as I get home, but I go to bed early due to my get-up time for the morning gym session.
