How to tighten up a stretched out stomach

When I had my 3 children no one really told me how important exercise would be. I gained weight and lost some of it, but I never focused on weight. My muscles in my lower abdomen are completely stretched out. Now I'm older and wondering what I can do to possibly tighten it. Not looking for a flat tummy like I had 25 years ago, but something to help make my clothes fit better, you know? Any ideas welcomed & thank you in advance

    Did you end up with the muscle separation down the center? (Diastasis Recti) If so, use caution in choosing your exercises as some, like crunches, can make it worse. There are youtube videos that focus on this issue, including both how to check and see if you have it along with exercises that will help correct it.

    1. See a doctor. Make sure that you don't have any underlying medical issues that will interfere with safely doing exercises.
    2. Start slow and build up stamina and strength over time, over working muscles is a great way to ruin any progress you've been making.
