Meal replacement shakes

Are there any known long term effects of a diet that has a high proportion of liquid calories?

I don't eat a wide variety of foods, despite my efforts in trying to change that, and as a consequence my diet is probably lacking overall nutrition and I'm struggling to meet protein goals and I want to start resistance training. I have tried some of the nutritionally complete meal replacement shakes, for some nutrition at least and it's actually felt like some variety (different flavours, and I actually like the texture). I have already done the weight loss part, and been in maintenance for a while, just trying to focus a bit more on the nutrition side now.

aslong as you dont confuse meal replacement shakes and protein shakes. I see no problem in them, I wouldnt try to live off them though, But thats just me being biased and unwilling to say its okay based on my very limited knowledge lol. I do know its possible thats about it lol
