Same plate, two different weights...

Cautionary tale:
I sometimes decide to weigh my portion partway through loading the plate, and have many times "tared" the scale on another (heavy stoneware) plate from the same set.
Suddenly realized today that two of the "same" size plates weigh 75 grams different. Knew that wasn't a 200 gram apple! But it certainly explains some oddish results I saw in the past... will be more careful in future!
