Step counters

Will the app on my phone (Samsung health) suffice as a step counter or should I get something else?

    I never use Samsung Health because it's got too much junk on it that I don't need or care to use.

    I use an Andorid app simply called "Pedometer" which works well for me on my Samdung S5.
