So if I burn 600 calories at a workout and it adds to the food I should eat is it necessary to eat the extra calories to ensure that I lose weight?

To lose weight?
No.
To maintain energy, make sure you're fueling your body for future activity, and retain muscle -- these are reasons to consider your overall energy expenditure when deciding how much to eat.
A bigger deficit isn't better, just bigger.3 -
Curious, what exercise do you do to burn 600 calories? Eating exercise calories back won't 'ensure' weightloss but it will help fuel your body so you can continue working out and decrease the desire to binge from hunger. Not eating exercise calories back can increase the rate of your weight loss which can be harmful.1
