i am really interested in learning how to dance and hip roll but was wondering do you guys think it is possible to do so? Or if anybody has any free resources that you use such as youtube that they found successful?

i am willing to try even just 30 minutes a day so that I can move more throughout the day but was thinking maybe it is pointless.

any advice!

From my tribal dance perspective, where "hip rolls" like moves apply, my advice to you is to approach the style via belly dancing hip movement basics, before you can have fun with faster tempos, when you're comfortable. Additionally, core activation basics will benefit you greatly eg nauli. If you master nauli which some refer to as the vacuum in bodybuilding (only to music), you'll nail it. And it gives a different dimension to the average hip rolls. It makes you look more authentic - like a native would present it, the hip roll meets a belly roll in the one movement. Flawless.

Unfortunately, my sister's not replying otherwise occupied, for this is her strength area with dance. She works her mid-torso beautifully like a wind only not so literal.

Practice. Practice. Practice. JaydedMiss is correct - one isn't born knowing it. It is drummed into you. Practice every single day. Nail the techniques, much like a gymnast and a ballerina and latin ballroom dancers ... Their drills!
