Stop looking for tips, educate yourself on how weightloss works, and figure out how you can make that process work for you. You lose weight when you eat less and move more, it's as simple as that, but you have to do it for real, consistently, and for a long time, so it's not necessarily easy.
To use MFP as it's designed, you need to first get your correct calorie target. Pick a weekly weightloss goal of no more than 1% of your bodyweight. Decide as best as you can how active you are, not including purposeful exercise. Buy and use a food scale, and check the database entries you use, against labels or the USDA database. You will learn your way around here after trying things out for a while - prelogging, how to use the recipe builder, how to get the most out of your food scale, how to get the most out of your calorie allowance, all the great stuff. Aim to hit, but not exceed, your calorie target, daily or weekly, and not focusing too much on details. You can, and should, eat food you like, because, as mentioned, you're in this for the long haul.
If you exercise, log it and eat back 50-75% of those calories.1
