Weighing in on “weight”

Just a little PSA regarding our “weight” and worth/level of success.
At my heaviest I was 220. At my smallest I was 130. Any pound I gained after my weight loss left me feeling like a failure, and somehow losing a part of my new found confidence. I struggled with the idea that any weight gain signified a lack of self discipline, or a fast track back to my old eating habits. But the truth was I had changed more than just my eating habits. I had changed my entire lifestyle, and it took me a few years to come to terms with the importance of celebrating that accomplishment over my weightless alone. I had revamped my outlook on my body, my health, and my self-worth. I stopped focusing so heavily on the scale as a reminder of my success, and instead looked at all the ways I celebrated my body through my new love of fitness. I now fluctuate between 155-165lbs from gaining MUSCLE, and my scale is currently collecting dust somewhere.

You look fantastic.
I too have found it more rewarding to look at other goals rather than just weight. While I am losing weight at the moment the main point of the weight loss was to improve my speed and also specifically for a 13km run I have coming up next weekend. I've done the run before but I wasnt able to run the whole thing, being lighter has helped me improve my time and distance. Focusing more on the running goal means a week where I've not lost weight isnt a big deal as I know that training, recovery etc are just as big a part of achieving my goal as my weight is.2 -
It's cool how your pose in your first and second pics hasn't changed at all-from arm placement to leg placement and yet the results speak for themselves.
Great to hear that you've shifted your mindset too. That's what will ultimately keep you where you want to be.1 -
You look amazing!2

Amazing! I love these reminders: that weight is really just a number and doesn't tell the whole story. You look fantastic and strong now! Thanks for posting.1
