Camping

I have two trips planned with my family- both are going to be active. :-)

This weekend we are going to a KOA for the kids- pools, splash park, petting zoo, hiking trails, climbing structures....

Next week we are spending 5 days on the coast, including kayak fishing, beach time, etc.

Not sure how well my cell reception will be for logging, but know I can easily find service at least once a day.

I am thinking that if I cannot easily track things that I will not worry too much about my fruit and veg, but will definitely track everything else. Also not planning on logging exercise unless I am able to get a legit walk in- then I will wear my HRM.

Any tips?

You're on vacation! Just log your food and don't worry too much about accurately logging your exercise. As long as you are up and about on your feet for 30 minutes or more each day you will be fine. Just get back to logging work outs when you get back to your normal routine.

I definitely plan on enjoying it! In the past I may have gone all out camping, but this time I am planning moderation. :-)

We will be busy- and we are taking our dogs which definitely means a lot of walking.

We camp all the time, I get up early and go for a 3 or 4 mile walk, its quiet and beautiful to do a walk by yourself. Just set it in your mind of what you want to do and how your going to eat...but yet at the same time relax! (Easier said than done right)--oh! and drink your water!!

I'm going camping this weekend too! Although mine is more of a drinking by the lake type of deal :drinker:
I still plan on a LOT of hiking, swimming and kayaking while I'm there.

I agree with the other response by TheGymGypsy - don't worry about it too much while you're on vacation! If anything, bring a small notebook with you where you can write down what you ate for each meal and what activities you did that day, then you can log it all in when you return home to see how you did! At least that's what I plan on doing
