It might help if you share what things you don't like -- picky eaters don't all like/dislike the same things.

Agreed with @janejellyroll wholeheartedly. My husband is a picky eater. Took 7 years for me to memorize his basic flavor palette and texture combos in order to start recommending new products that COULD be edible...

My brother was the picky eater growing up. He likes most veggies, but dislikes most fruit. He also dislikes dressings, condiments, and dips. There is no one "picky" definition.

What do you normally eat? Eat those things, but stay in a calorie deficit.

Yeah, my husband is a picky eater. We've been together 15 years and even with me paying attention over the years, he'll still surprise me either with things he is willing to try or things he refuses to try!

The great thing about picky eaters is that they tend to be OK with monotony (same thing every day). Find what they like and just keep making it until they tell you to stop!
