Have any of you tried anything to jump start weight loss? Of course I’m going to be changing my eating habits, since losing weight is more of a lifestyle change.. so dieting and exercise of course, but any jump starts? Such as, cleanses or vitamins to help with energy? I’ve been going over with my dr about how I lack natural energy bodies are supposed to produce in order to help me lose weight and get moving and am thinking of turning the natural route, with vitamins? anyone know any jumpstarters?

There is no way to jumpstart a diet. That is just mumbo jumbo that gets passed around. You just start it and be patient.
Oh and as you are reading this your body is using energy that can be used to lose weight you don't need a special amount.
If you are low on vitamins your doctor can test for them and you can add foods rich in those vitamins into your diet as well as getting supplement recommendations from him/her.9 -
"Jump start" is such a vague term, but generally no, there isn't a way to "jump start" weight loss. If you currently aren't meeting your nutritional needs, eating in a way that better meets these may help you feel better. You could also try looking at your activity level and seeing if you can increase it or look at the quality/quantity of your sleep and see if there are areas that you could improve.
But basically, weight loss is created by a calorie deficit and you don't really "jump start" this, you either doing it or you aren't.6 -
As mentioned before, you are burning energy just by sitting there, breathing, living. Start moving more, even if 5 mins at a time. Build up as you're able.
To jump start weight loss:- Input your stats into MFP.
- Get a food scale.
- Weigh and log your food.
- Stick to a reasonable deficit.

As far as this:I’ve been going over with my dr about how I lack natural energy bodies are supposed to produce
Newton's First Law is most applicable on that. An object at rest, tends to stay at rest. The more we sit, the harder it is to get moving, but we have to force ourselves to do that. Once we get going, it gets easier.19 -
There's no jumpstart.
You do what you need to do if you want to lose weight. If you want it bad enough, make it happen.

Just getting into the deficit is the "jump start". The first week I went into a deficit I lost 5lbs, water weight mostly. Vitamins probably are a good idea for many people. Lots of us are deficient in one vitamin or more.0

You should ask your doctor to check your vitamin D levels. If it is too low that can zap your energy a bit3

Coffee and then more.6

As the rest said, there’s no jump start. Just get a food scale, weigh/measure/track all you consume. Exercise can help with energy levels, even just adding some walking each day. You slowly start to feel better as your life style changes.
Side note, have you been checked for low iron particularly right after your tom? I lose a ton of energy during hormone fluctuations with ovulation and tom.0 -
I think drinking 100 ounces of water a day.. and some with lemon and eliminating processed foods and any added sodium will make you lose big the first week. That's what i did and do on my plan...i know most of it is water weight..but somehow i kept right on losing all along the way.22

Don't waste your money on "cleanses". And you can skip the "jumpstarts and fixes". They are unnecessary. If their plan works for you, go for it. But in my opinion, the 21 day fix was a clever way to sell people more tupperware and shakes. Just start eating in a healthy and sustainable way.4

People starting keto or low carb diets often get excited as they often lose a lot of weight in their first week. This might be the "jump-start" you're looking for. Unfortunately, this initial loss is primarily water and not fat, and is regained as soon as you eat more carbs again.

As everyone else has already said, there isn't really a way to jumpstart a diet. Only a way to start.
To help with feeling tired, many find that once they start exercising (even a little bit), they actually have more energy than previously. Aside from that, make sure your diet contains enough of the nutrients you need. Drink plenty of water and get plenty of sleep.
You'll lose weight quickly initially anyway, whatever you do. It won't be fat loss, just water weight. But it might just be the "jump start" you're looking for on the scales.0 -

My favorite way to jump start my diet is a nice dinner at a Brazilian Steakhouse or a Large Pizza. A box of twinkies is also nice.

there is no secret to starting weight loss, unfortunately
get a food scale to weigh food.
log all food you can
eat at a calorie deficit
exercise is not required but it does give you more calories to eat (start eating about 50 percent back)
set reasonable goals
set nonscale goals (fit into a goal dress/jeans/etc)
set nonfood rewards for minigoals
read the stickies
WEIGHT LOSS IS NOT A STRAIGHT LINE and takes time
if this becomes drudgery, you will be less likely to stick with it3 -
You should ask your doctor to check your vitamin D levels. If it is too low that can zap your energy a bit
OP in addition to Vit D, also get iron, iodine, and thyroid tested, as deficiencies/problems with these can result in fatigue.
Don't start supplementing for deficiencies without first testing. At best, this could be a waste of money. At worst, you could harm yourself.0 -
What does jumpstart a diet mean? I hear this phrase and it doesn't really make sense to me. Does it have something to do with making you more enthusiastic about losing weight? More motivated? Does it have something to do with wanting to see a big loss at the start with very little effort? Because all of those things are short-lived. I recommend trying something different and more sustainable to start, and then begin wrapping your head around the idea that this is going to consist of small changes over a long period of time. Probably a lot longer than you're expecting.
To start, I recommend getting yourself set-up on MFP, choose a modest weight loss goal, and start logging everything you eat to stay within the calorie goal it gives you. For that to work, you have to log consistently and accurately. If you do it correctly, you will lose slowly but steadily over a long period of time and you will change your habits as you learn more about what will make this sustainable and easier to maintain for you. By the time you reach your goal, hopefully (and with the help of this community) you will understand how to maintain your new weight. It's not going to happen overnight, or in a straight line, and that's just something we all have to resign ourselves to.1 -

Humans aren't batteries or motorcycles. We don't need "jump starts" or "kick starts".3 -
Here's something I wrote tongue in cheek a while back, but I think it's sound if you're just wanting some direction:
5 Days to SUCCESS:
Day 1: Log your breakfast, log your lunch, make a MFP blog recipe for dinner. Save some for your lunch tomorrow.
Day 2: Log your breakfast, eat your leftover dinner and log it, have an afternoon snack, enter one of your favorite recipes into the builder and have it for dinner.
Day 3: Log your breakfast. Log your lunch. Log your dinner. Get some activity today.
Day 4: Log your breakfast. Think about the past 3 days. Which meals did you enjoy the most? Which left you feeling the most satisfied? Have you been hungry? Did you like the day with the snack or would you rather have bigger meals? Based on your thoughts, plan your meals for tomorrow and pre-log. Get some activity again. Log your lunch. Log your dinner.
Day 5: Prepare and eat your logged meals. Did you like having it planned ahead or did you feel restricted? How hungry have you been? If you're uncomfortably hungry or feeling deprived, set your diary to public and post in the forums for feedback. Get some activity again. Make a grocery list of the foods that left you feeling the most satisfied and maybe some based upon suggestions from the community. Go shop for days 6-10.10 -

If you want to maintain a healthy weight for the entire rest of your life, then a "jump start" is not a great start.
In fact, sliding into weight loss by gradually changing habits can be a much more effective strategy. Log what you eat, see what you could reduce and still be happy and get good nutrition, start some sustainable exercise you enjoy that fits into your life balance, etc.
Learn how to eat in a sustainable way, lose weight gradually, hit a happy weight, maintain it forever = very viable path.
There is no smart jump start.
The closest remotely sane idea is the one others have suggested: Log your food, get a food scale, maintain a moderate calorie deficit, get some decent nutrition, lose weight. That's not so much a jump start as a sensible start, likely to actually succeed . . . unlike most things labeled as jump starts.5 -
To jump start a diet is a marketing catch phrase (for selling weight loss snake oil). You've clearly been caught.2
-
Have any of you tried anything to jump start weight loss?
No - I just started by having a serious think about what would make my weight loss successful and then I started the way I intended to continue.
Of course I’m going to be changing my eating habits, since losing weight is more of a lifestyle change.
It can be if you need to change your lifestyle. I didn't, I just needed to lose excess weight. (That's part of the thinking above.) If you do need to make long term changes then think it through seriously in terms of sustainability.
so dieting and exercise of course,
That's it! Diet for weight management, exercise for health, fitness and enjoyment.
The rest is just marketing twaddle to absolve people of responsibility of how much they eat while extracting money from them.
but any jump starts? Such as, cleanses
Cleanses are at best pointless and dumb and at worst harmful.
or vitamins to help with energy
Vitamins don't give you energy, a deficiency may drain energy though. Are you deficient? Why? (Inadequate diet or lack of sunshine perhaps?)
I’ve been going over with my dr about how I lack natural energy bodies are supposed to produce in order to help me lose weight and get moving and am thinking of turning the natural route, with vitamins? anyone know any jumpstarters?
Sorry but none of this makes any sense whatsoever!
Seems more like you lack motivation and commitment. Neither of those come from your Doctor or supplements.
What does "turning the natural route mean"? The natural method to lose weight is to eat less (primarily) and move more.
Being fitter, motivated/committed and enjoying whatever form your movement takes is what gives you energy.

My JUMP start plan:
JUMP onto you computer and order a food scale from Amazon. Almost any one will do.
Do 10 JUMPing jacks.
JUMP out of your chair and get the package from your porch and open it.
Do 20 JUMP squats.
JUMP into your kitchen and weigh your food.
Do 30 JUMP rope reps.
JUMP onto MFP, set up your profile, and log your food.
Do 40 burpee JUMPs.
Repeat daily.
Do 50 high knee JUMPs for joy when you lose 1 lb.8 -
40 burpees??? SADIST!2
-
To give myself a jump start, I bought some nice new exercise clothes from Lane Bryant. (I usually exercise in rags.)1
