Hormonal hunger

I started tracking again 2 weeks ago, at the beginning of my cycle. My plan is to weigh monthly, I’ve previously found that weekly weighing puts too much pressure on and I’m more likely to binge then quit. It’s been good so far, I’ve stuck to or been just under my allowance.

Now that I’m around ovulation, I’ve really noticed an increase in my hunger and don’t feel satisfied with my allowance. I’ve been eating the good stuff, porridge oats, fruit, veg, nuts but at this time of the month it’s almost like I’m hollow. Any other ladies experience this, and have any strategies? I may be lucky in that this phase is only about 3 days, I don’t get the hangries when Aunt Flo visits.

Yes, same. I eat at maintenance calories on those days.

    Yep! What quiksylver said.

Just get back at it afterward. :)

I'm not too bad around ovulation, but I'm awful for a few days before and the first couple of days of Aunt Flo. I tend to let myself eat a little more around those days and cut back a little more towards the beginning of my cycle when I'm less hungry. The other thing that has really helped is increasing protein. I started weight training a couple of months ago, so started making protein shakes because it's hard to get enough as a lazy vegetarian otherwise and found that a shake will keep me feeling full for hours even on those hungry days.

I sometimes get it around ovulation, but in the week before my period I am ALWAYS bad for feeling unsatisfied with what I’ve eaten. I get awful awful cravings and get in horrendous moods if I don’t cave in. It’s actually really hard to deal with

I’m finding just after ovulation/week 3 of my cycle the worst week, low energy and also no satisfaction with what I’ve eaten. I’ll do what PP have suggested and eat maintenance calories. It’s so hard not to stuff a whole pizza in my face!

Glad I’m not the only one who notices this!! I used to get the worst cravings every month at this time. I finally found an all natural solution that I use every day and it has taken away my cravings...even during that “that” time!! I have been amazed at the difference I feel!

I know this post is really old, but I'm struggling with this too. Can you share your natural solution?
