Can you eat boiled pork neck bones with steamed vegetables and lose weight? I know calorie counting is always important. But is this one of those foods that would hinder your weight loss?

A calorie deficit is what creates weightloss. No foods hinder weightloss. Not having a calorie deficit, prevents weightloss.5

There are no foods that "hinder weight loss." Why would this particular food be different?
Calorie deficit = weight loss
Calorie surplus = weight gain

Through what mechanics would it hinder your weight loss if accounted for in your calorie budget?

calorie deficit is the only thing that makes you lose weight. it doesn't matter what parts of an animal you eat so long as you are in a deficit.
ex: i eat ice cream almost every night for dinner0 -
The only foods that "hinder weight loss" are foods that cause you to eat more calories than you burn. You lose weight by a calorie deficit, not by eating/not eating particular foods.0

Never ask this question on MFP. MFP is for calorie counters. The answer to any dietary question will be: "just count the calories."
It is also useful to note that fatty cuts of pork have higher calories than lean cuts. It's amazing how low-calorie a boneless pork chop is. Great source of lean protein (if that's what you're looking for).8 -

That's because calories are what matter for weight loss. HTH.7 -

Because fat is 9 calories per gram, and protein is 4 calories per gram. Look! Counting those darn calories again!7 -

Are you suggesting that there are foods that will hinder weight gain? Because that would be nonsense. Or are you just derailing this into a mean people thread on page one instead of answering the question?2 -

The only foods that would directly hinder your weight loss are foods that take you over your calories for the day. If you like pork neck bones and they fit into your calorie and nutrition goals, then great. It sounds like they could be a good part of your diet.1 -
I would be concerned with sodium intake and water retention if they are smoked neckbones.0
