I know every one is different, but my doctor immediately tried to put me on 3 prescriptions. After researching PCOS for myself, I decided to try to control it with diet and exercise, no prescriptions, and within 6 months I was 100% better! I also lost 55 pounds that year. That was 14 years ago, and in that time frame I’ve had three babies, with no fertility issues. Feel free to friend me or message me if I can help you at all!5

I had it (have? It’s a little fuzzy now.). I was borderline insulin resistant and had high cholesterol and triglycerides as well. I took a birth control pill—later switched to an IUD for other medical reasons—metformin, Crestor, and Tricor. After I started working out and losing weight, I was ultimately able to stop all of the medication. That happened after I lost about 50 of my 100 pound total. I did not follow any particular diet or macro ratio; I just stayed within my calorie budget.1

I was diagnosed a year ago. They had me on metformin but I couldn't function and I instead chose to put TTC on hold until I drop weight. Me and the doctor are currently arguing over what is a healthy weight for me to start trying again though0

I have PCOS, have had for about 20 years. I was still able to conceive and give birth to a daughter (she’s 11 now). I weighed a lot less then, than I do now though.
Been TTC for nearly 4 years now, and I know my weight is a big factor. I’m currently on meds, not for my PCOS, but for elevated oestrogen levels and not enough progesterone. Not sure if this is linked to my PCOS or is a seperate issue.
My dr has told me that losing weight will help my hormone levels, my PCOS, and will improve my chances of being to conceive.
I’ve lost 20kg (somewhere between 40-50lb, not sure exactly how much in pounds). Some people say that losing weight is harder for women with PCOS, but this has not been the case for me. I’m pretty determined though, and all going well, hope to be off my meds and able to start TTC again in the next few months.
All the best for your journey. PCOS isn’t fun, but we will overcome!!!0 -
I have PCOS did the internal ultrasound. The best itself wasn't all that bad. My OBGYN tested my fasting insulin levels along with fasting glucose and found out I have insulin resistance (but not diabetes) which is common with PCOS. I got put on metformin traditionally a diabetic medication would help my body not make way to much insulin all the night. I found watching my carbs has really helped me. Just know weight loss is possible with PCOS. Feel free to message me if you have questions. Best of luck to you1
