I’m sure you can do it. I know a few people who have lost 100lbs.

    Do you have a plan?

You can do it. I did it, I'm 41 and a woman. It took me nearly 2 years to drop 170lbs, then I kept it off for a year without much effort, now I'm back to drop another 20lbs.

The first 20 came off pretty easy, these last 20 are a bit harder.

The hardest thing, was just logging everyday that first month. If you get through that, it's going to get so much easier. Good news: the more excess fat on the body, the easier it is to lose 20lbs of it.

You know yourself best. People constantly argue over keto, intermittent fasting, low carb, CICO and everything else. Yes, it is as simple as CICO, but if you need a specific plan (keto, Adkins, pre-made meals, whatever) to help you stay on plan, that's what you do. Do what works for you best. If someone has a problem with it, (unless they are YOUR MD) too bad - it's your body.

Be patient. Remember, it took longer than a month for the weight to come on, it's going to take longer than a month to get it off.

Reward yourself. Because I'm eating so much less than I used to, my grocery bill went from about $600/month to under $300/month. That is $300/month in my pocket so a once a month reward of something that costs $50 is still cheaper than my old grocery bill. Your rewards can be anything you like. For me it's usually socks (I have a thing for really adorable and whimsical socks). Personally, I made a giant list on a poster board with a list of 50 different goals. I'm on my 6th or 7th board. My goals were everything from "lose 10lbs" to "30 minutes/day of extra exercise for a week" to "someone else noticing my weight loss". Small doable goals. It feels good to cross them off as things I've accomplished.

Do not be discouraged because some people can do a 1200 calorie day and not be "starving". The more body mass someone has, the more energy that is required to simple exist. So someone that weighs less, naturally uses less calories a day to function. So people that can do 1200/day (plus most of thier exercise calories) for a month and be fine, are also lighter.

    You can do this.
