Hi
How do you measure your muscle mass increase?
The Tanita scale I have been using is pretty useless.

To be honest I don't trust scales. If you are gaining weight, you can rely on measurements (going up in the right places of focus, and less in other places like the waist), you can look at changes in bodyfat% visually (by mirror, photo comparison) so you should be looking bigger without looking too soft, gym performance increases (more strength, able to handle more volume), how your clothes are fitting. I am sure there are scans and things that can give you a better idea of muscle gained, but there are even errors with those so I never bother with them.

BF measurement using DXA or hydro testing is the only reasonably accurate and readily available means to measure LBM (lean body mass).
The really is no way commercially available way to measure ONLY "muscle mass". MM makes up a large part of LBM (about 40% "but the actual # varies) and changes in LBM can be an indicator of changes in MM but only an indicator.1 -
I use my mirror, and comparison photos.2

Nutrishop has a machine that you stand on bare foot and hold electrodes works pretty good they pay 9g for these machines and you can use for free and it tracks your progress2
