Just started very new to this, never really controlled my diet so if you have any tips that would be great especially with working out to tone thighs :)

For losing weight, there is no way to choose where to lose it from. Just lose it everywhere! As far as working on the thighs, all those horrible leg workouts (squats, lunges, deadlifts, leg curls, leg lifts, etc.) will help with that, or perhaps cardio (anything from walking to running to incline on a treadmill or hiking) can do it. I would do both strength and cardio.

As far as tips for food, get a food scale if you don't have one and measure/weigh EVERYTHING you put in your body. You'd be surprised at how much "I just had a bite of that" or "I just had a nibble of this" will add up. Make sure you are tracking honestly and diligently.

Don't give up if you go over your calories, it happens to everyone.

Don't try to go to crazy and lose 3 or 4 or 10 pounds per week. Slow and steady wins the race.

Don't get discouraged when the scale doesn't reflect what you are doing. Keep at it and focus on your clothes, measurements and pictures as well. Adjust accordingly if you aren't losing - perhaps you are eating more than you realize or measuring wrong, etc.

Wishing you the best! The forums are full of good (and not so good) information.
