For all those who think restrictive diets are a must...

Today is my son's 14th birthday. I had my usual protein shake for breakfast and a healthy lunch, and was able to enjoy lasagna, wine, garlic bread, and pineapple upside down cake while still coming in under my calories. And no, none of them were diet versions.
Don't deprive yourself. Maybe eat less, but darn it, eat the lasagna and cake!

Exactly!!!! The only restriction in my "diet" is calories, and I increase my daily workout when I want something that I know would normally put me over my calorie limit.
My diary typically has at least one of the following: cookies (Tim Tams dark are my favorite), a "kiddie" cereal (Fruit Loops or Cookie Crisp), fast food (kids meals), or something that has been deep fried. Just in moderation so that I continue to lose weight.2
