Raspberry Ketones??

Kaiser Permanente maintains a database of nutritional supplements that has some interesting data. On Raspberry ketones it said the following: The 'scientific' study by the company promoting the product was done by a person whose academic credentials were an MBA--no scientific standing. The study cited was performed on quantity six (sic) male mice and showed a slight decrease in weight (~2-3% over the period of the study)
Essentially the study demonstrated a conflict of interest, unqualified person conducting the study, inadequate sample size, results that are not statistically significant, and well, the obvious, mice are not people.
I believe in being open minded, but don't be so open minded that your brain falls out.5 -
Taking raspberry ketones just made me burp rasperry’s.
I tried the ketones, the green tea extract, yadda yadda yadda.
The only thing it did was FREAK OUT my liver. Fortunately, I see a diabetic endocrinologist - even though I’m not diabetic, I have a pre-diabetic condition and would LOVE not to have to fool with diabetes if I don’t have to - and see him often enough and have enough tests done that I was able to figure it out. I started taking them after an appointment an at the next appointment, the numbers were really HIGH. I realized that was the only change, quit taking them right after the tests were done but before my appointment (I get my test results online when they’re done) - told the dr. - we re-checked the numbers a week later, and the numbers went right back down to normal.
If you try them out, and they seem to work without any adverse side effects, then go for it. They didn’t work for me though.0
