Well certainly some people are hated just because they are terrible people, right?
I suppose......but i think hating a "terrible" person is a waste of time. If a person harmed my family maybe i could hate. But if the person has nothing to do with my life, then its a waste of energy in my opinion to even give them a thought. Unless of course what makes them terrible in your eyes makes you see the ugly truth in yourself, then it may be hard to let it go.....maybe....
I believe that some people do hate people because they see their own flaws in that person. Other people are hated for good reason. I doubt many people see themselves in Charlie Manson
Sure, there are outliers in every scenario. But i dont think its a stretch to have strong feeling of hate towards a person responsible for the murder of multiple people incuding a woman carrying a child.....its like saying, im not a fan of cancer! Strong stance
So do you believe that most people hate others because they are jealous of them or that they see their own flaws in them?
If I saw my flaws in someone else and hated that attribute of them I would work on fixing myself, not waste my time on hating them. It does happen though. I just don't know how often. I would like to think that the majority of hated people really deserve it (like Manson) and that is not the outlier, but that the outlier is the jealous twit.3 -

I dont believe most of "hated" people deserve to be hated. Its mostly hyperbole when people say that. Again, if someone deeply affects you negatively in your life, say an abusive spouse, or something that can scar physically or emotionally, then yeah hate can happen. But peole tend to be dramatic and hate everything and everyone that may have caused them discomfort. An annoying co worker.....getting butt hurt on the internet, slow people at the DMV.....people all hate these things.....but not one of them cant be walked away from and forgotten. So i say.....chill.....it should be hard to hate.7 -
I don't. I just don't care anymore.7

Then maybe we are on the same page and don't realize it. I don't hate people, even those I probably should. The people I dislike deserve it. A LOT. They are bad people. I don't waste my time hating them.
Maybe "hate" is overused and an exaggeration for most. I think true hatred is usually deserved though. Maybe not. I only know what my heart feels and what my head thinks. People are all different and I am sure a lot of them have dark, hateful hearts.
Either way I feel bad for anyone who has true hatred for people for petty reasons such as jealousy. I also think that if someone is naive enough to think that their only haters are jealous of them they probably need to step back and reassess themselves. If I felt that someone truly hated me I wouldn't take that lightly or assume that it was a them problem until I was sure that it wasn't a me problem.3 -

Agree with this5 -
evn though every time I get in my car and go half a block my mantra is I HATE PEOPLE... over and over until I get home. I really don't but they make me feel that way all the time... such idiots behind the wheel EVERYWHERE... ugh Seriously, it is like being in an arcade shooting gallery or playing Russian Roulette... dodging head ons, almost getting rear ended... round a bouts chaos.... you name it. I won't even leave the house after dark, not even worth the risk.3

It is hard to hate. What you're talking about there is not liking someone. To hate someone you have to passionately or strongly dislike someone. I know people will say things, sometimes, like I hate my co-worker. But if they truly hated them they would go out of there way to avoid them or confront them in an extremely negative way, just to name one example.
But you're right. There are also people that hate themselves and will go out of their way to take pot shots at others for no reason, make up lies about people they don't really know, be negatively sarcastic, and they may even invent their own little fantasy world so they can take that hate and redirect it on others. In the end it's just sad for the people that do that.
I agree with you that people's time is better spent not hating other people or themselves. In the end it's just a waste of time that that person can never get back.5 -
