An Introduction!

Hello everyone! My name is Katy! I'm from Olympia, Washington. I'm on a mission to get in shape, as I'm sure you are as well if you are reading this! I could really use some encouragement and support, so if you are in the area or just feel you have some useful tips or words of kindness for me I would appreciate it!
I'm nineteen years old and roughly forty pounds over weight. I am using myfitnesspal because I am tired of getting the usual comments from family and friends..
"You like just fine the way you are!"
"You're not overweight!"
"I love you at any weight!"
Although these comments are nice, they are not what I need to get healthy. I know that one day it will be imperative for me to be in shape and I need to be ahead of the game. I have weight loss goals, but in the end there is one thing that I want to do. I want to be healthy for the future, healthy enough to be an example for children I may have, to keep my body running smoothly, to give myself the tools to fight whatever sicknesses or problems I may have.
And I also want to be able to run the way I used to! I am going to start at a walk/jog and make my way back up to the miles I used to run. Eventually I'd like to enter myself into a marathon. I'll need to get in shape first though!
