Doable or not? Just wondering if this is reasonable rate of loss and has anyone done it ?
I'm not planning on cutting out any food groups (there is no life without carbs for me ) just deficit and up my workouts again.
I ve lost 10lbs and then just stopped while changing meds for my Bipolar ,increasing my hours at work etc and couldn't focus .I'm going away in 7 weeks and don't want another set of holiday pics where I look chubby and miserable

10llbs is definitely achievable. I would try and keep your carbs to about 50% this should help keep your blood sugar stable and make sure you eat regularly.
I’ve tried doing a 15-20 min HIIT session 4 mornings before breakfast and work. It seems to have increased my weight loss well so far. I generally don’t eat many of these calories back though.
Good luck you can definitely do this x13 -
If you only have 10lb to lose it may be a little steep.

Yea I'm not cutting carbs ... that never ends well for me .
About to 15lbs to go but I would be more than happy with that 10lbs off1 -
What are your stats? That is a bit on the aggressive side with not much to lose.2

Doable but ask yourself if putting that additional stress on yourself, both physically and mentally, is worth it.
If you’re happy to put in the hard work - go for it! But don’t beat yourself up if you don’t get all the way to 10lbs. Celebrate your success (whatever it may be) and enjoy your holiday. A lb or two here or there is nothing.4 -

So, the short answer is that you're within the normal weight range and regardless of whether you can get the *scale* to show you a 10lb figure, aiming and achieving 10lbs of *fat* loss in 7 weeks is definitely a very aggressive goal.
Given what you've said about your situation my opinion would be to increase your exercise like you're planning to, to set MFP to a deficit of 500 Cal a day (1lb a week), and to eat all your food and most (60 to 80%) of your additional exercise calories--assuming you measure your calories-in fairly accurately.
Any healthy improvement is bound to make you feel better if you allow yourself to celebrate it.
But setting a counterproductively aggressive goal and potentially feeling bad about not achieving it plus suffering from potential rebound physical effects... that doesn't appear to be smart goal setting.6 -
I was 5'4 145lbs and it took me almost a year to lose 10 lbs, which you probably don't want to hear!
Once you are already in the healthy weight range, it is hard to lose fat quickly, and more than 1 lb per week is quickly. I agree with @PAV8888 set your goal to 1 lb per week and eat some of your exercise calories. And understand that in the short term, especially when you are already small, it is really easy for a lb lost to hide behind water weight fluctuations. Short term, the scale is not your friend. Log accurately and consistently, use a food scale, and don't get emotionally invested in what the scale says, because you aren't really giving it enough time to accurately reflect the work you will be doing.
Honestly, I'd guess increasing your fitness over the next 7 weeks will do far more for how you look and feel than losing 10 lbs will.
If you were just looking to lose 15 lbs total with no self-imposed deadline, my advise would be to set your goal to lose 0.5lbs per week, and incorporate some progressive strength training. And in 6 months you will probably be thrilled
Regardless of what the scale says, there is no reason to look miserable in vaca pictures unless you decide to let the number on the scale control you. I can guarantee you no one else on your trip will be worrying about how much you weigh. Have fun :drinker:5 -
Thanks everyone for great tips, appreciate it.1
