I would question this concept. A healthy diet is balanced and varied, not any specific foods. And even the most ideal diet will keep you longing unless you eat food you like. And even the most optimal diet is not in itself enough to stop cravings completely. If you keep busy, you'll reduce the amount of time you can eat and can spend thinking about food. But some of us tend to think about food a lot, our thought just naturally wander in that direction. It's no wonder, food is central in every society, but our society has become obsessed with food and being thin, it cultivates immediate gratification and learned helplessness. Not having too easy access to too much too easy to eat food, helps. Not demonizing any foods, helps. A good meal schedule, helps. Enough sleep and rest, helps. Managing emotions, and a loving family and good friends, helps.

Save some calories so you can have some crisps or chocolate or whatever you fancy?

I like Special K bars at night but i always save 300 calories daily for snacks. Sometimes I eat some of my exercise calories back 2! I hear you when it comes to sweet things !

Nuts and seeds are a good source of magnesium, which is usually what our bodies need when it’s telling us we want something sweet. I’ve switched to lightly salted pistachios, unsalted almonds or pumpkin or sunflower seeds as snack late at night and my cravings have drastically decreased. Give it a shot for a week or two and see if there’s a difference in your cravings and energy. If there’s not, explore other alternatives. Good luck!

Sugar free jelly is my go to when I crave something sweet,i always have a couple ready made in the fridge to grab if needed, there literally 16 calories per half a sachet,if I have enough calories left in the day I add 2 tablespoons of double cream to it,it works a treat

Sugar free gum, as long as I'm chewing on something I'm not so drawn to snacking or I've recently discovered celery is good too.

I also portion our some calories for a predetermined dessert but this is for after that.
