I do crossfit as part of my training. I enjoy it and it's helped me to become a more competitive obstacle course racer.

I Love crossfit and by your pics, it looks like you're already fit, so you may be working out for a while.
You're getting results from the WOD whether you want it or not. The workout is so intense that there's no way you won't feel it.
I never measured much, other than watching the mirror, but I had persistent love handles that turned into Vs within 6 to 8 months.

The best advice I can give you is FORM. There's a ton of people getting injured because they jump into these exercises like Clean Grabs, Snatches and chest to Bar pull-ups (Some places call them butterfly pull-ups) without proper form.
You'll know if your box is good by how active the instructors are in correcting form. Everything else is just hard work and sweat.

Our box, in florida, on top of everything, had no AC. So we worked out at 35+ degrees which was awesome.

leave your ego at the door. doesn't matter how fit you think you are a WOD will kick you *kitten* and continue to do so forever more. 3.5 years later and they still kick my *kitten*. It's no good going in thinking you'll smash it and be "the best" finding out its significantly harder than expected, getting disappointed and never going back. be humble, train hard, give it your all, cheer for the last person. Listen to the coach, he/she knows her stuff generally. If they aren't giving feedback on your form they dam well should be.

Its addictive and i love it. I can do more than i could ever do with a regular gym program. The community is wonderful. My box is a true family and i wouldn't be without them.
