    It seemed like a reasonable beginner's guide to keto.

    I don't think keto flu is carb withdrawal though. It is an electrolyte imbalance due to lowered carbs and the resulting lower insulin, which causes water and sodium to be lost. Sodium needs to be replaced or you get the symptoms he described.

    Actually, it is lowered glucose stores that causes the water dump and subsequent electrolyte dump.

    The article is reasonable, but does have some 'woo' as mentioned above.

    I suppose it's technically both that causes the water electrolyte dump: low insulin signals the kidneys to do a sodium dump which help you lose some water weight, and less glycogen means that less water is bound to muscles and the liver.

    Either way, it's usually nice to lose some bloat. :)

    The electrolyte information is critical and so often missed. Also, it is easy to remedy.

    This article could definitely get someone jump started in a good direction.
