I’m really not into holidays of any kind, but father’s day reminds me of the very most important things I have, and that the best thing I will ever do is be a proud father to these children. The ones here on earth, and the one..... elsewhere.13 -

My first Father's Day without the first one to call me dad. It's going to feel different.

Why? What's the big deal?0 -
Top: my actual dad, being his zany self at a birthday party.
Bottom: However, he is starting to lose himself to COPD, so my second cousin (who is a heart-uncle to me), pictured here with the rest of my immediate family (counterclockwise from left is him, celebrating a birthday of his own, Dad and Mom (his cousin)) flew down to support me during a current health mess of mine even while he's getting back on his feet from an...interesting marital/child support issue/crumbled relationship. He has cared for me (and continues doing so) through thick and thin.2 -
No churren of my own, so I'll post one of my old man. He worked nonstop for over 40 years (retired twice, one from the USAF, once from law enforcement!) to provide a good life for my mom and some snotnosed brat that wasn't even his to begin with (that'd be me.. he wanted to be more than a stepdad, so he adopted me.. my shitbird of a biological father was incommunicado). I'm lucky if I'm even half the man he is.. I'm 47 and he's still my hero.
...he's still got a Harley. 77 and still rides.. the man's a juggernaut. This pic was from when we were in Italy (he was stationed @Aviano AFB), maybe '76 or so.. that'd make me about 5 in the pic. That was the only Harley for miles, & I used to be so damn proud to ride with him on it.8 -

Happy Father’s Day!3 -
This is me and my dad on my birthday in Florida,
This was the day he told me I’ve become a good man and he was proud of me.
In a card.
I still am tearing up just thinking of it8
