Difficulty Sleeping When Losing Weight

Whenever my body is in deficit I find it hard to sleep for a full eight hours. I often wake up in the middle of the night and wake up early in he morning. The lack of sleep makes sticking to a healthy lifestyle even more difficult. I have a few hypotheses- perhaps it’s the time or amount I’m working out, my macros, or maybe my deficit is a bit too large? Does anyone have any ideas as to why lack of sleep is connected to weight loss?

More exercise + lower cals often increases our need for magnesium. Magnesium helps with sleep and recovery.0

Interesting. I began sleeping less (read: going to bed fine but waking up very early, which is completely new for an anti-morning person like me) yet still feeling generally rested when I started a more structured exercise program. Eating less had no impact on my sleep. I take Magnesium - it's just that somehow exercising has lowered my sleep requirements instead of raising them.
How do you feel when waking up? Are you rested? Are you capable of performing for the day-to-day job and while exercising?0
