Loving Keto

I am in my second week on Keto living. I have lost 7 lbs so far. I have been following the Simply Keto meal plans. I am worried about traveling and keeping on track. I typically travel every week for work but have been in my base office for the past 2 weeks making it much easier to stay focused and honest.

I leave tomorrow for a 5day conference in Vegas. I purchased Ketologic shake mix and also Keto Drive BHB for energy. You mix the powder with water no carbs and only 5 carbs.

Any other tips for travelers?

A healthy diet is balanced and varied. A good diet is one that provides you with all the nutrition you need, not excessive in calories, and is easy to follow.

Yes. Really easy options are mozzarella cheese sticks (actually there are all kinds of flavors these days), and nuts INDIVIDUALLY PACKAGED. One of the things that is tricky about Keto is that some of the best things are calorie-dense and very easy to misjudge in terms of how much you are having. I also love the Noosh almond butters -- they have MCT oil in them and they are an individual 90 calorie packet and DELICIOUS. I don't do much of the premade "keto" foods; there are a handful of things that are natural foods that work pretty well. You can get nuts or cheese sticks even at Starbucks if you are in a pinch. I have also added the light and fit greek yogurt which is only a few carbs. Restaurants are really easy in most cases. A salad with protein, or steak/fish/chicken with vegetables. If you like seafood, that's a great and easy option too. Eggs or omelet for breakfast is usually pretty easy. Vegas is a great food town; lots of options. I always carry a couple of Noosh packets and a couple of packets of nuts in my work bag. I feel like being satisfied on Keto is not hard; in fact I can live happily at a lower calorie intake on Keto than on any other macro split. It's having a plan that is critical. I am a month into it now, but not my first time. Feel free to send a friend request if you like :)

    Hi,

You could head over to the LCHF forum

    https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/394-low-carber-daily-forum-the-lcd-group

There are lots of helpful posts including tips when travelling.

I tend to just use the 'Hold the ...(bread/pasta/pastry/fries/other carby food ) and try not to stress too much, focusing on returning to the WOE I prefer when I return from the trip. You can also ask for substitutions in many places.

I've been following LCHF/Keto since September and have faced this a few times, it hasn't mattered too much following this approach and now I can get straight back into it quickly.
