Looking for a weight loss buddy!

Hey all! I’m 17 and have been on a crazy journey so far. I started out at 270 pounds and lost 70 pounds! I was down to 200 pounds, only 20 pounds from my goal weight, and feeling amazing. But my weight loss came to a full stop due to my hectic schedule (and frankly, poor choices) and I gained back 40 of those pounds that I lost. I’m terrified of returning to my old obese self because I know that if I can’t help myself now, it’s just going to be harder in the future. I’m looking for someone in the same boat as I am. Someone who does their best when they have a team of people fighting for the same goal. Maybe we could make a game out of it? Challenge each other. If you’re interested in having a weight loss buddy, let me know!

@FisherBramer Hello, Helloooo. Check out the groups and see if you can find one that meets your needs.

I don't do weight loss challenges or fad diets or quick fix weight loss plans. When I hear the word challenge i.e. weight loss challenge, I cringe. Once upon a time, I was your age. The process of losing our childhood or high school optimum setpoint can take decades or just a few short years. I started dieting after reading all of those dippy magazines that put out a new diet every month. Huge mistake.

When the challenge is over there's a natural tendency to say thank goodness that's over, time to relax and maybe do a little thrill eating. That's what I used to do. Eat it all back when the dieting was done. In short, temporary diets or even a challenge can be a setup for more cycles of yoyo dieting. Everything I did in my past was the wrong lesson.

Weight loss challenges are like cramming for a test. It will get you by but you won't remember anything after the test is over. Every time we slide back off the goose it's a shock to the psyche and another hit to the metabolism. Just set up your profile with your stats for your age and gooo slooww for the permanent WIN. Really think about it and do some more studying while you're tooling along.

If you replace old habits with new ones now while you're young, you'll have a much better chance at getting there and staying there for the rest of your life. Congratulations on what you've already accomplished.

    You can be my kid.
