Hello! My first time on here. My goal is to lose weight and gain some muscles in my legs and arms. I need to strengthen my knees because I ripped my tendon In my left knee and the tendon in my right knee is stretched out and weak. My doctor said my legs are inverted from my hips so there's no real point in trying to fix my knees. So basically my knee caps are always going to dislocate and they will always hurt when over used. I'm limited to a few things but I have gone 3 years now without a serious dislocation(: unfortunately i dislocated my shoulder last year so took a lot of time out of the gym because I was in physical therapy for 4 months and when that was finally over I lost motivation. But motivation is back and I'm on a no carb, low calorie diet. Other then that I'm a normal 24 year old who works full time and loves dogs! Hoping to make some friends to share the journey with! Not sure how to use this app just yet so if anyone has any advise or pointers id be super grateful ♡

Dislocating joints habitually doesn't sound normal. Have you gotten a diagnosis? That's crucial for proper treatment.

Don't try to go on a no carb, low cal diet. You don't need carbs per se, but you need nutrition that only comes from foods that contain carbs too. Low calorie can mean many things. The calorie target MFP gives you when you pick a weekly weightloss goal of no more than 1% of your body weight, is a good target.

I dislocate my joints too, mainly shoulder. I can only speak for myself but strengthening the areas around the joints seem to be the only way to ensure some security from dislocations. But in any case, you recognise your position and can now find a way to get fit even with those issues  Good luck! I too love dogs.
