My Life Changed After I Came to MFP...

7 years ago I found myself at my highest weight ever, not having done fitness for several years, newly divorced, mid-50-s, starting to feel like I was past my prime, blood pressure almost borderline after being low previously and bewildered as to how to lose weight for the first time, having enjoyed eating whatever I wanted seemingly without consequence...until the desk job and raising a family.
I got back in the gym and began a very unpleasant attempt at weight loss just by...well...the undisciplined seat of my pants. The gym went well, the weight loss didn't. I don't know how I found this place but I did. From there...-28lbs. to target...more effective workouts...muscle balance training...a move to a ski town....100+ ski days a year...instruction certification...masters racing...hiking the Uintas...hiking the Tetons...hiking the Sawtooth...hiking all over MT...50+ mile cycle rides...a resiliency to vigorous physical activity I thought I'd lost in my 20-s. All the while keeping my weight within 5 lbs. of target above and below. My blood pressure went low again after the weight loss and stayed there.
I'm in my 60-s now...I'm still fully engaged in skiing, cycling and conditioning. My life was fine then...it's better now. The avatar photo is recent. Yeah...a little bit of flaunting I just figure at my age I can inspire and redefine and pride...
It sounds fan boyish I know but thanks MFP...really...thanks to this platform and to all those who took the time and effort to write in these pages and counsel me along the way.
Godspeed all....
