After my run and after i cool down when i walk my heel hurts/sore. When i go back to running following say it takes me some time to get over that initial soreness and eventually it goes away.

I know what i am describing is very general description but has anyone experienced this

How are your running shoes? Have you been to a running store for a running analysis and fitting?

Do you heel strike? You need decent trainers if you do.

Could be plantar fasciitis, if it keeps up, ask your doctor.

Its not your achilles tendon hurting at your heel

Sounds like plantar fasciitis but could be Achilles tendonitis or something else. Probably a form issue or you could just be overdoing it.

I have pain in my heel daily, also in the arch of my foot. It’s at its worst first thing in the morning or after a long period of rest, or during/ after a long walk- it can also be quite sore at the beginning of a long walk, then fade after a while, as you describe.
I’ve been told by my Dr that mine is plantar fasciitis. Wearing padded insoles helps, so does ice if it gets sore.
Maybe check with your Dr if it doesn’t go away?

Where specifically is the pain, is it there any other time that you have written, is there anything visible, how hard/soft is your heel pad?

I would suggest to get your gait analyzed at a running store. Sounds like you could be heel striking, but there are many things that can cause that and until your gait is analyzed we are all just guessing.
