Pre-strength training meal

So I have a question about what to eat before my strength training session. I've been reading various things and I've read some places that you don't have to eat beforehand, and other places saying you need to eat a mix of complex carbs + protein so that your muscles can repair...
Any opinions/thoughts/experience on this? I usually do my strength training sessions around 6AM in the morning 3x/week since that is the only time I have most days, and the thought of having to wake up at 5am or earlier just so I can eat something pre-workout doesn't sound like much fun. Is it bad if I do weights on an empty stomach? (Note: I've worked out doing weights both on an empty stomach or a few hours after eating and I haven't noticed a difference in my performance either way..)

I work out at 4am. I only take a scoop of Body Strong BCAA'a with 20oz of water and some Nitrocut(nitric oxide booster) pre-work out. Then do a big protein shake + creatine post workout. Then around 8 oz of grilled chicken breast a couple hrs later. My diary is open, feel free to look if you like ...0

It's fine to workout fasted. Just be sure to eat fairly soon after your workout and make sure whatever you eat contains protein and carbs to help the recovery process.0
