Gluten-free, low cal breakfast ideas??

I have recently been diagnosed with non-celiac gluten sensitivity so I am still trying to figure everything out. To complicate matters, I also need to avoid eggs and all soy products.

One of my major issues is coming up with quick, easy, low calorie breakfast ideas.

Any ideas???

i’ve found many great waffle recipes on pinterest that are gluten free and can be made without eggs! smoothies are always a good idea too. you can pack them with lots of healthy foods, and you can get everything ready the night before and then just blend it up in the morning. there are also many great low calorie breakfast cereals out there that are gluten free, like cheerios and chex. i eat gluten free too, so i know how not fun it can be! hope i helped!

A big bowl of berries and/or melon, with low-fat or non-fat yogurt, Greek yogurt, or cottage cheese.
Oatmeal with a side of bacon or ham.

@Joiha Maybe you can find something here even though your diagnosis is a tad different.

I skip breakfast most days, but if you find that you need to eat something first thing in the morning, leftovers are a great option. Nothing says that you have to eat traditional breakfast foods at breakfast time.

That said, there are lots of great companies out there now making gluten free products, I know that my grocery store has a hole section.

I really enjoy poached eggs with smoked salmon and some spinach! Little dab of hollandaise sauce 👌🏼

Gluten free porridge oats are a decent product, not that dissimilar from the regular kind. They're overpriced like all gf products but what can you do. There are plenty of supermarket own brand gluten free cereals these days too, and even some big brands (on top of what cereals are naturally gluten free like rice krispies) and obviously gluten free bread, pancakes, pancake mixes, tortilla wraps for breakfast burritos etc etc etc. so you can probably have your regular kinds of breakfast if you make a few subs!

You're actually pretty lucky to be diagnosed now, it's the best ever time to be gluten free, you'll find your feet soon enough. I was diagnosed with ceoliac 20 years ago when gluten free life was a nightmare!

You might have to be careful of GF oats. For some reason they sometimes affect those with gluten sensitivities. You might want to avoid it until all of your symptoms are gone and then try reintroducing it.

If you like baked goods, there are many GF recipes you can try. I like coconut flour recipes. Paleo and primal cookbooks are GF.

I like leftovers for breakfast. My favourite breakfast is a coffee with cream and some protein powder.

King Arthur has gluten free muffin, brownie, pancake, waffle and bread mixes, if you still want traditional breakfast foods. Glutino is another company that makes decent mixes as well. Udis sells frozen gf bagels, hamburger and hotdog buns, muffins, pizza, bread etc.

All three of these companies make decent gf alternatives.

Breakfast doesn't have to be anything special. I used to eat chicken and broccoli, roast beef and potato, quesadillas, salad or soup first thing in the morning.

There... even some big brands(on top of what cereals are naturally gluten free like rice krispies)[/quote]

Im celiac and allergic to soy although I can eat eggs. You have to be really careful as most of the gluten free breakfast items sold in stores (especially waffles) have soy. Many of the big brands are making cereals that are gluten free and are labeled that way. Rice chex, lucky charms, and captain crunch are some of my favorite.

Be careful with cereals like brand name rice krispies because even though they are made of rice they are not gluten free as they contain malt flavoring. Ive had a few of those trick me once or twice. (Although our local grocery store's knock off is gluten free)

If you do not have a problem a nuts or tree nuts you can swap out your dairy for almond milk or cashew milk to make it an even lower calorie breakfast (or leave room for a double serving of cereal).

I also second the notion about King Arthur mixes. They are the absolute best.
