I need help from the ladies. I am really interested in walking more and maybe running (which I've never done). However, I am top heavy (40 DD) and it hurts when I run or exercise hard. Anyone have some good (not too expensive) sports bras? It would be good to actually do something like the couch to 5k but I need a sports bra first. Thank you!!

The only one I'll wear is the Enell bra. But it's not cheap. I usually can find it online for $50 on Amazon.com:
    http://www.amazon.com/Enell-Sports-Bra/dp/B0009JHMIU

You can also find it on Title 9 Sports called the "Last Resort Bra":

You will be able to run in comfort with this bra. I own 4 or 5 of them now because I jog, do boot camp, Insanity, and Taekwondo. Lots of jumping and running every day with no bouncing!

Also, the bra will last for years. I'm still wearing the ones I bought about 8 years ago. I've since gone down a bra size, but still can comfortably wear the larger size without bouncing. I just wash and dry them in the machine in a garment mesh bag.
  • its very hard to find a "cheap" sports bra...trust me cuz im top heavy as well...but like with ur weight loss u have to think of it as an investment...the cheaper the product...when it comes to bras..the less support u have...so the only other thing i can tell u is try and find one with a wire..which i bought mines at sports authority with one..that helped alot...or u can also use double the bra...where a regular underwire bra and then a soft sports bra..gud luck!!

I am a 46 DDD and I just bought some Just My Size full cup bras from Walmart. They hold pretty well and I have been walking with them without bouncing and problems. Give one a try. I think they are like $10.

I am still looking for one. The only thing that has worked for me is layers. I wear a regular full coverage bra, then a sports bra over it, finally I put on a tank top (the kind with a bra built in) then my t-shirt. I know it's a lot, but it keeps the "girls" from bouncing around and hurting when I run.

I'm a 34F and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Enell Bra....like waguchan says...they aren't cheap, but they will save your girls in the long run! (no pun intended!)

Also, like she said, they last FOREVER! I wash, then hang to dry and I've had it for years.

OH YEAH....they are easy to get off and on, which is a plus since most sports bras rely on compression to work, the Enell hooks up the front so you put it on like a vest.

A great invesment. I think I should be a spokesperson, I love it so much!

I, sadly, do not have this problem. However, a friend of mine also does the layer thing. I regular bra, then a sports bra, then a tank made out of that under armour stuff. SSee if that works while you save up for the expensive bras they are talking about.

I used to do the layer thing too, but find the Enell bra so much more comfortable. And like hymiesmom said, it snaps in the front, so it's easy to get on/off!

I highly recommend the Enell bra too. I shopped around and found it locally for $50 and I didn't have to pay shipping. It definitely makes a difference in my workouts, I don't get as tired because the girls are strapped down and not bouncing all over the place. This is the only sports bra that I've tried that actually works, and I can get off without dislocating a shoulder.

I'm a 36DD and my new favorite sports bra brand is Moving Comfort. They're all between $40 and $50, and I haven't had a problem with one yet. You can get them through retailers or their website (movingcomfort.com). They actually look nice too, are super comfy and come in different colors. My current fave is the Finoa ($44), which is their highest rated bra. I use it for high impact aerobics without any back pain or bouncing around.

You can find the Enell bras on Ebay for $30 bucks at times. That's where I got mine. It's a waste of $$ to buy anything else. This bra holds things in place and is no joke!
