Enjoyed an hour and half bike ride around Vancouver's Stanley Park ocean coast sea wall with my wife today. Beautiful day. Lot's of folks out enjoying the sunshine. Nice to mix some exercise with enjoying mother nature. Looks like wedding ring has to get re sized lol. Fell off yesterday and today. 😮 No more sausage fingers

There is a lot of info to take in in this video but it is well worth the time to watch every minute of it. Lot's of scientific terms that may seem confusing but if you find yourself wanting to know then write them down and look them up afterwards. So far from all of my research, books read, videos watched, this Dr is very in tune with everything myself, my doctor, and our control group of folks have found out while living this ketogenic life style.

Just a bit of an update as I haven't been around the forums much lately. After losing all the fat I am now focusing on gaining lean muscle mass while still eating keto but upped my protein intake substantially. It's been interesting to see where the levels are with my metabolism to stay in ketosis, work out, and consume up to a 1.3 grams of protein per pound of body weight per day. I range from .7 to 1.3 gram protein per pound of body weight daily and am usually under 15 grams of carbs per day.
Getting to where I'm at with my body has made me feel a lot more confident about my looks, body, health etc. I let my health and weight slip away from me over the years and it's so nice to have it all back under control.
My daughter got herself some piercings the other day and I was with her so I said F it I'm getting some too lol. She thought it was awesome and glad to be sharing that experience with her lol. She's 18 years old and I'm feeling like I can keep up to her these days

Wow that's awesome you forgot to mention how tall you are. I lost about 11 pounds in 4 weeks using the omad diet. Exercise 3 times a week on a fasted state. I still eat what ever but one meal a day. My goal is 20 more pounds in 60 days. I'm at 220.2 pounds and I'm 6ft. Really amazing story bro. Cheers really inspired me thank you so much. To anyone else reading you can do it too.1

Thank you for the kind words! Very glad to hear I can help inspire some I'm 5' 11" Currently I'm eating two meals a day but in 6-7 hr window. I did OMAD for quite awhile but since needing to up my nutrient uptake due to gaining lean mass and working out more It got pretty tough for me to get all the nutes into one meal after awhile so I went to the two meals instead. Works really well for my schedule now. Hey man you can do whatever you put your mind to. We are the only obstacles to our successes. Desire and determination will get you what you want.3 -
Congratulations, this is one of those posts that is both very impressive and inspiring! It seems like you are enjoying every aspect of your new found lifestyle, which is an important reward and motivator. One question I have about OMAD (I don't know much about this type of fasting), is how many calories were you consuming in that half hour window? Apologies if I missed this info somewhere in your post.2

As time went on I wanted to ensure I did not lose muscle mass along the way with fat loss and I wanted to try to build lean mass while losing the fat. So I made sure I was getting my macro's right while losing fat to do this and was working out. I did have an injury along the way too so that slowed down all exercise for a while. As my fat was leaving my body very rapidly (most things you read on the internet say don't lose more than 2 lbs per week for safety/health reasons-talk to a doctor/dietician, get blood/urine tests along the way to ensure rapid fat loss is safe for you more than 2 lbs a week. It is absolutely if done right) and I was getting down to lower and lower BMI I wanted to really focus on building lean mass (muscle). I have a large frame for my height. I was carrying a lot of muscle under my fat. So I began really focusing on more protein, working out and staying in ketosis in this later part of my journey. Which required taking in more nutrients daily but still very little carbs. So It became harder for me to do the OMAD (one meal a day) so that's when I changed to two meals in a 6-7 hr window) and it's working very well for me. Intermittent fasting combined with Ketosis is a very powerful metabolic advantage where you can burn a lot of stored fat rapidly. You won't find many forum member here supporting that sort of thing because like I mentioned earlier this forum is all about CICO. If you research these things yourself you will probably find a lot more information about what I talk about and what I practice than what you will find on this forum unfortunately. But there are some sub groups in the forum that are focused more on LC, Keto and Intermittent Fasting.
When I made the change to focus more on building lean mass (while still having some fat on my body) is the only point I started getting concerned about caloric intake because I needed to "grow" muscle. And my protein intake increased. This part is all still very resent as I am still on this journey.
If you watch from about 37 min, 40 seconds of this video to about 40 minutes, 5 seconds of this video the doctor talks about thermodynamics (CICO) and how it doesn't come into play while being in the metabolic advantaged ketogenic state. This is a fact proven by thousands of people all over the world and by myself along with the group of folks I am involved with in our control group. Tons of new studies going on regarding this as it's a very powerful tool. This whole video is chock full of very valuable information. And from my findings personally very accurate.

To note I have never "drank or eatin" man made (exogenous) ketones you see advertised all over the place now. And I only used MCT oil earlier on in my fat loss. Once I researched that stuff more I discontinued the MCT oil. I create my one ketones/ketosis by diet alone. Drinking or eating man made ketones in a bottle may have it's place with some athletes but not with regards to fat loss IMHO. Lot's of info out there on that too.
Sorry for the long answer but I get lot's of questions regarding these points of interest so thought it would be best to detail it the best I could.

Fabulous work! I'm doing something similar but am nowhere as disciplined. Thanks for the encouragement. And I agree about the face shot being strikingly and positively different!1

Thank you for the kind words I wish you the best on your journey. The only thing between us and success is our minds. Yes thankfully my face trims down a lot from the fat loss. It has always been the place I gain it first too.0 -
A helpful video that goes into more of an explanation regarding the question @CDN_Jay asked me the other day regarding whether or not I did CICO during my weight loss. You can see my above reply to that question above a couple posts.

Body recomping is going very well. Staying very active, working out and eating much more protein now while recomping. Gaining good lean mass while still keeping the body fat down. Staying in optimal ketosis every day and health markers all excellent. Still doing intermittent fasting as well. And fasting blood sugar levels also perfect.
Did a 22 KM hike yesterday to some mountain peaks over looking lakes and oceans. Lot's of the inclines where very steep with not much of way of trails but more scaling rocks and roots with ropes in some spots. Thighs got roached pretty good by the end of it but overall felt very good. Heart rate and lungs were doing great. No stops during the 22 KM's just some pauses for some pictures.
Wife took these pics so blame her for the quality lol.
