Hi i was out of the gym for 2 weeks with a back muscle strain and lost 2kilos eating the same amount of calories. Is it normal to loose so much weight? I don't lift heavy weights at the gym......just finished 4 weeks of strenght training for beginners before muscle strain. I also didn't need or wanted to loose weight i was trying to gain muscle and if possible maintain at the same time. I am going back to the gym tomorrow do i pick up from where i left or do i go down with the weights just to get back to the routine workout? Thanks

First of all, the 2kg weight loss may likely be mostly water weight - stopping the gym stuff for a couple of weeks + hormonal water weight variation, depending on where this two weeks has fallen within your cycle (if you have one). If you continue losing weight rapidly, see your physician. If you continue losing weight but at a more reasonable pace, up your calories.
With regard to the weights, my rule of thumb after a lay-off is to drop the weight back a third (as long as that's not lower than when you started) the first day back and use an empty bar for first set of warm-up lifts. I can easily add sets/weight as seems reasonable but the last thing I want is a self-inflicted injury.4
