Vegan on a diet...

Hi!
5 months ago I have turned vegan. Also approximately the same time I have faced a lot of difficult things and horrible situations happening in my life. Stress was literally everywhere. As a result, I have gained 7 kg. (From 50 to 57). Because I don't feel healthy anymore, because I stopped liking my body, there was only one choice - diet. But even though I eat 1200-1300kk. and do sport 5 times per week, there is still no progress. I don't understand. Maybe somebody has any sort of an idea or also has faced something similar?
Help!
Best regards,
Dana

Are you using a weigh scale to measure your portion sizes?

Can you open your diary? It often helps us pinpoint any potential problems. In addition, your weight is quite low, so you'll find that your progress will be slower than if you were at a larger size.

Also: How tall are you? When did you start trying to lose weight? What kind of exercise are you doing?

The above comments are all good questions. Being vegan has nothing to do with it, not sure why you brought that up.

Vegan here!:) are you cooking your own meals from scratch ((I know it's hard cos stress)) or buying ready meals and eating junk food?? My worst times with anxiety I was eating pringles / bacon rasher crisps for BREAKFAST - a whole bag, I'm talking 600 - 1000 calories, drinking so much alcohol and eating take out constantly. Home cooking vegan food is very hard to go over your calorie limit, unless you're having LOADS of pasta or something for every meal. Maybe you should calorie count?:) x

@TheDanaFilkin 57 kg is 125 pounds. That would be a normal healthy weight for me (5'3"). How tall are you? How long have you been trying to lose weight?

At that weight, being as accurate as possible with calorie counting is what will matter the most OP. I do want to note that I'm also 5'3" and while 125 pounds is within a healthy weight range for that height, I know it's too much weight for my body type so I'm also curious how tall the OP is.

I am 152cm.. Three months ago I have started to try to lose weigh (I was 57kg.), now I am 56.
I do yoga everyday, cardio 2 times per day and also I do exercises for different body parts (I follow YouTube videos).

Because when I try to find information about losing weigh, the main answer is to reduce carbs, but for me it is literally impossible, as they are the big part of my new lifestyle.

    Thank you for your answer.)
I usually buy ready food, as I am pretty bad at cooking. Yeah, at least one day per week I eat some chips and my calories intake happened to be 1400, but other days I am pretty strict. Is it possible that the time when I eat effect that, as the main part of my food is between 17 and 19? Or can constant bloating prevent me from losing weigh?

You can lose weight on a moderate or even high carbohydrate diet. Weight loss is created by a calorie deficit, not by limiting carbohydrates.

I love carbs and get over 50% of my calories from them every day, and I lose weight. You just have to eat less than you burn. Are you tracking all your food intake every day?

This is not based in science. All that is necessary to lose weight is a calorie deficit.

When I lived in yoga retreat centers, I knew plenty of healthy and fit vegans who ate a high percentage of carbs.

152 cm = just under 5 feet for those of us who aren't metric.

I track my calories intake but I have not actually paid attention how many calories I burn. So, that is one this I guess I really need to concentrate on. Thank you!

Similar stats .I am 152 and at 120-122 lbs. Vegetarian and planning to lose about 8-10 lbs because these extra 10 lbs on my small frame does not sit well. We are close to or at normal weight . Its very hard to lose at this stage.
At any setting (even loss of 0.5 lbs per week ) MFP only gives me 1200 cal to work with.
1200 is not a lot and unless we are very very careful its easy to go over. I am not able to lose much either mostly because I am finding it hard to stay under 1200.
